And the Beat Goes On...

So I'm working at band camp and part of my job is to come back to the office from Indiana and check phone messages/emails/etc and bring them back to Doc. I made my trip in this morning and the minute I stepped into the office, I knew something was wrong. It looked...different. Much to my dismay and confusion, the giant Bearcat* was missing from the corner. Now, Bearcat is not a small statue, in fact, he comes up to my shoulder easily. I have never come so close to almost pooping myself. Who do I call first? The police? Should I look around for other missing artifacts? The computers are all still here....so is the equipment. WHO THE HELL WOULD STEAL THE BEARCAT???

I called Doc back at the camp...he sounded like he almost pooped himself as well. Tells me to call the police. While I wait for the computer to load so I can get the non-emergency campus number, I decide it's worth my while to look around. I unlock the dark, locked conference room and lo and behold...Bearcat? What are you doing standing in the corner of the conference room?
Needless to say, Doc and I are both very relieved that he's alive and well though how and why he ended up in the conference room (he's not exactly light...) is a mystery since we're all at band camp and we possess the only keys to the room...hmmm...

That is my exciting band camp story. Unfortunately, it's been a boring but productive week at camp and the fact that I'll be attending our first football game this season as a staff member on Thursday night blows my mind.

And I'm still moving. And our landlord is a giant douche and put a note on our door telling my apartment we have at least 70+ hours of cleaning to do before we are officially moved out. WTF? It's not the Taj Mahal. I love getting these happy texts at night from my roommates. The way our landlord has been behaving the past few weeks indicates he is trying to do anything not to give us our deposit back...asshole.

*Just like Cleveland has it's giant guitars and most large cities have some form of animal/inanimate object they give to local artists to paint and display around the city, our campus did it with our mascot, giving him to organizations on campus to dress up. An old drum major outfitted him with a full marching uniform hat, sash and all. He is on display in our band office.

Lameness.

I'm so frickin lame...I'm trying SO hard to get back into this.

  • We leave for band camp Sunday and I leave for my first band camp as a staff member...so weird. :-)
  • I'm also moving. Only a few blocks away but geezus do I have a lot of shit! Thank God for the new HUGE basement.
  • The aforementioned things make me hella tired. I'm sitting here trying to entertain my rookie, pack for camp, pack for the move when we get back from camp, and trying not to let the arthritic pains get in the way.
I'll be back.

Dammit. I'm packing and working and moving and getting the band ready for band camp...sooo I'm out of this world.
